I've had my ups and downs. Weight gain was usually a reflection of illness both mental and physical. I'm currently recuperating from a brain injury which caused me to regain some hard fought weight loss. Hence, I've fluctuated! I know that's a familiar story here. My all time high weight was 280, and I was there twice. I just hit a nice round 225 on my way down again after my injury which took me from 200 back up to 243.5. So, while 65 lbs below my high is really better for my health, I still have 65 lbs to go. So, half-way there. I appreciate all of you, your struggles and triumphs, and of course your support. Thanks FS buddies!

Reflect on this myself. Had trauma, felt unwell and ate sugary 'hospital foods' that supercharged my appetite. Not sure how I would deal with this if trauma happens again. The good thing is that once recovered, we do well with control and health, and that is something to feel good about.

Recently, my better me said Clair you are 62, and if you ever want to be happy, you got to start taking an interest in how you look. 3 years ago when my husband died, I gave up on the outside of me. I said so screw it, I can be Happy by myself. well when I couldn't fit in all my pretty clothes than I got mad. I knew it was time to get off the carbs and start eating healthier. No diet pills for me because I'm on psych meds so it's down to what I can control. the answer isn't in my cookie jar or the fridge. I taped it shut. (cookie jar)
I put myself on 1200 calories a day with the consent from my doctor. he is a great cheerleader for me. No sweets only natural foods. lean meat chicken, pork or fish. Water to drink. if I have a soda it's a diet soda with lemon and it's only once or twice a month. I was told that diet soda makes you crave food more. that's the last thing I need. I wish I could change my picture on this website because that's not how I look. that picture was from 4 years ago when I started my diet the first time.
