What six of my rose bushes look like today! The hot pink, which were totally devoured by deer this spring, finally bloomed! This is calorie free food for my soul!

Again, thank you so very much for enjoying my flowers with me. They do take a lot of work, so your encouragement means so much! To give some perspective, the dark purplish/dark pink in the far back against the house are more than six feet tall! I am so excited! I didn't prune as harshly this year, and they are thanking me! ❤️

Melissa, we are trying to grow roses too but we have 6 bushes that don't bloom. they just grow and grow and grow like Jack's beanstalk. we have tried fertilizer, home remedies like coffee grounds etc. they just grow. not one single flower. any suggestions? 😵 it's driving us crazy.

Thank you, Shir and Lonnie!!! I'm not sure the scent is strong to reach very far, although fills a room when I bring a bouquet inside. 😁

iderminio, that is so very sad. 😢 All I know is what works for me, and I've never had that trouble. I can imagine a couple problems. How you could have trouble with six bushes though??? Sometimes in a grafted bush (most of the hybrids sold) the root stock grows and the nice flowering bush that was supposed to grow doesn't. I know it is really important to prune pretty hard during off season and they need lots of light. I know over fertilizing can cause the plant to put all its energy into growing rather than flowering, but this you describe is pretty extreme. I wish you luck. It make some so sad for you to be working to grow roses and not have them perform for you. bush

Thank you Tiffany! What? Bill? You ditched your roses? I'm confused! I could 😢! They stopped flowering, or the first blooms were just finished? I have a few bushes that basically bloom nonstop from June until December. and some that bloom a big crop and then start over again to grow up and bloom after a few weeks. Of my thirteen bushes two have absolutely nothing at the moment, and the rest are reaching their best show soon!!!

I'm over here in Washington losing my mind!!! 😁 How can you not know about your roses??? Oh, yeah... Most aren't addicted like me. Carry on! 😁 And, a hummingbird feeder is an absolutely lovely gift. Full marks! 🌟 ⭐🌟

What are those red plants called in the first picture?

Thank you, Tom! I do enjoy them so much! Ireland, they are a bunch of snapdragons! I absolutely love that rich cranberry color! ❤️

They certainly give a beautiful color and blend in well. I will look for them next year if everything quiets down. Thank you!!

You are so welcome! They are super great flowers to grow! Already they are on their second bloom and are about two feet tall now. The bees love them too! They will crawl right inside the, "mouth of the dragon!" 🐝
