Tonight we had a little early Christmas dinner with my youngest girl's boyfriend, who is heading out of the country to be with his family. We had Pot-stickers, stir fried veggies, marinaded and grilled chicken, and some Japanese noodles. Noodles and pot-stickers were easy! Not from scratch! I made lemon, poppy seed cake. I also made a cherry, pecan, spice cake from three different recipes I like. I was indecisive! My hubby gave me an early Christmas gift a couple days ago. My nearly 50 year old Kitchenaid mixer finally gave up the ghost. I love, love it and my wonderful man! Cat was looking picture ready, so he got included! :)

Thanks to all of you for your kind comments! Kenna, no, the big one is far beyond our price range, but when making big batches of banana bread (four loaves is my typical) I still can use it happily by just doing all the creaming and mixing the wet ingredients and then pouring into a larger bowl for a quick hand mix with the dry. It has the same capacity as my old one, so it is just what I am used to. However, it sure has a lot more power, and it is lovely to have more than slow and full speed! I very much suspect the new version will not last 50 years, but then... neither will I! sk, you are a riot! I helped my daughter find a miniature leg lamp when she was looking for a gag gift years ago. #AChristmasStory!!!!
