Yesterday I went to a movie theater to see a simulcast of the Met's production of Fedora, an opera I'd never seen before, which I enjoyed very much. While seeing a simulcast is never the same as attending a performance, it does mean you have the best seat in the house, plus closeups. I subscribed to the local opera for many years, but now, since I don't walk very well, navigating large theaters with many stairs is just too much for me, so I really am thrilled at the availability of simulcasts.
