oh sorry sofrito... and because I learned to speak Spanish from listening to people speak, I learned the leafy stuff was called recaito

recao is the word for the green leafy stuff, and recaíto is another way to say sofrito... ha ha ha... yeah. love my past.

I know it is sacrilege but when I run out of the homemade one I use the Goya brand and when that runs outs....gasp! I use dry spices to make a makeshift vertion.

Angus Bjornson, naw! It is all good. I made my own empanada dough once before I decided it was way too much effort for the gain and started buying Goya's discos instead. In fact, I have them in my freezer right now. 😅
