Diario de honeebuns, 20 feb. 24

The other day I mentioned my focus is on nutrition first. This is how i construct my meals. I need some lean protein so yogurt, I need some healthy fats, so chia and walnut, need some fruit, chop up a Fuji apple. Got my probiotics from the yogurt. Check.

Eat it, log it into the other app where I see my detailed nutrition scores, see how much omega 3, omega 6, and mono fats, note how much protein and fiber, along with detailed vitamin and minerals. . The calories came out to about 400. I always find when my base my choices on nutrition the calories always work out in the end. So lunch and dinner need to focus on lots of veg, more protein, some healthy grains and work in another fruit. After dinner I look at my nutrition scores and if I am low in any nutrient you might seem my holding a spoon with a bottle of olive oil, having something to add more fiber, or mixing some unflavored protein powder in a small glass of almond milk, or chomping on some raw broccoli. When I chase nutrition my calories generally come out to around 1600 or so. If I feel the need to have something like a brownie or glass of wine well to me that’s just a few extra calories on top and brings total calories up for the day. My first 50 lbs lost I did this blindly without any sort of tracking on an app. In the past year I really focused and doubled down on eating foods I consider healthy to me as an individual.

So yes I don’t “ count calories in “ I chase nutrition first but that doesn’t mean I am not cognizant of portion sizes. I am just more focused on the nutrition behind those choices.

Goes by the name proteinpancake. Settings are to followers. Sent a follow request a few days ago so I could get a better understanding of who they are but so far hasn’t accepted my request. That was my expectation.

Much the same way I do things, although right now I'm not tracking food intake anywhere. I think right now my goal is to take everything I learned from tracking and from research and eat more intuitively. Getting bloodwork next week, so we'll see how I'm doing. Sorry about the troll. Did you try to delete their comments on this post? I'm still seeing them if you did. Makes me wonder if the comments I deleted the other day on one of mine are still showing up

WYO my goal is also not to track nutrition forever. That’s not realistic. But what it is doing is showing how better to balance my food choices. My next labs are end of April and even though lipids are fine trying to tip the hdl a little higher and ldl a little lower. Yes I did delete. But experience tells me that drops them from my view but not others.

I think it's dropped now. I'm no longer seeing it on the app or online. Maybe there was just a delay. I know it used to only hide it in your view, but I think FS has mercifully updated it. I deleted some clown spewing bad advice and misinformation on one of my posts the other day. Tracking nutrition forever was never my goal, either. Although I'm a couple of pounds over my original goal now, I'm thinking that's a fair tradeoff for not having to track. Hoping it will come off now that I'm retired and both more active and facing fewer food temptations out of the office, but I can live with it. Not tracking honestly makes eating a varied diet and trying new recipes considerably easier. Like you, my LDL got just under the max normal when I decided this had to stop. It dropped quite a bit between my dietary changes and the weight loss. Good luck to you on the next blood draw

OTB. Of course I am right !! Me choosing nutrition first is my body, my health, my choice. Not trying to convert anybody. That’s the point not trying to “prove” anything to anyone just explain my way of eating. If people can’t support that and find fault we are all doomed.

WYO I mentioned this before but I lost 50 of my 63 lbs before starting FS. I didn’t log or weigh foods. I used an old school food pyramid thought process and accepted what I learned to be healthy food portions. Mentally checked boxes off in my head. The only thing I weighed was myself on the bathroom scale. Foods much simpler and made at home worked for me.

I love this and it looks so good. I hate the trolls too and delete and report them immediately. I love all the different ways people exercise and eat out here. I am a strong believer in finding what works for your lifestyle and body. I like to follow people that post about their methods because you never know what you may incorporate into your own journey!

RPL thank you ! I also enjoy reading about others journeys. I restrain from giving advice on things like if cardio or strength is better, giving input on members who post about relationship or medical issues, and even on which way of eating is healthier, carbs, no carbs, fat, or no fat, etc. Sometimes I might suggest an approach if the member posting has a sense of who I am. I try just stick to sharing my own food journey if anyone wants to follow me along great.
