I am self employed and work from home so I have no excuses. Like others in my age group I have joint issues like herniated disks and torn labrum and rotator cuff. Recently a personal trainer at my gym did an assessment and my BMI and body fat was over 30 putting me in obese category. My issue has been lack of activity rather than eating too much. My goals are to firm up and get down to 205 from 230. Hoping to eventually cut my bod fat in half down to under 15. Have 2 dogs that keep me busy, one of which is my profile pic. Isn’t he cute? I have been in the gym for a month now to increase my exercise activity. Started logging my calories and exercise a week ago. Next step is to add measurements since that will help measure progress not seen on scale. I’m not following any formal diet. I’m trying to supplement my protein intake. I would like to eat around 30-40% protein and carbs per day and 20-30% of fat and burn enough through exercise to end up -1,000 plus calories each day. I guess I’ll see if that works. I’m trying to lean out as opposed to losing weight.
