Sunday 12/13/20
After 8 weeks on the FODMAP eating plan (avoiding short chain carbohydrates), I still do not see much difference in my body. I still have flatulence, stomach aches, and bloating. Avoiding all wheat products, no dairy, no onion or garlic and a whole list of fruits and veggies is getting old... I am ready to give up on this plan to isolate IBS symptoms. I see no definitive improvements. The VA has done a SIBO breath test and if it comes back positive, they will use antibiotics to reduce/ kill any bacteria in the small intestine, which is responsible for my symptoms. Making the entire household eat the way I need to eat has been stressful on everyone. Enough already! I'm ready to celebrate Christmas with a few cookies. Thank goodness dark chocolate was an approved food item.
