I feel you Melissa and what a great analogy! A year ago I was also maintaining and it seemed effortless at the time. These days I feel like I'm working really hard and really trying to get things under control, but just not getting back there. Thank you, Hiker! Do you mean the roses in the bottom left corner? They are "Dark Desire!" They are my latest to bloom in the spring, but they are wonderfully disease resistant, and from knee high at pruning grow to way over my head in one season. The blooms are more of a dark purple on the edges and are reddish toward the center. If you look them up, you can see they either have a typical rose petal pattern or dual centers. Mine has both! It is one of my favorites!

These are not normal times for any of us. Most of our “normals” have changed drastically. We are getting through this. We are close but still have a ways to go. Everyone needs to give themselves some slack, but not an excuse to totally derail. That will not help to keep us on our mental game. Our mental states are as important as our physical.
