I am going out to dinner (a new steakhouse) tonight so while I'll probably see an uptick on the scale in the morning I'm recording it anyway so I'll remember to eat mindfully.

Shopping for the 'hospitality table' snacks yesterday was WEIRD as I've passed that aisle for over a year now. Yeah, I was on it last week in another store as that's the same aisle where they ironically shelve the sugar free pudding but it was so different to be looking AT the snacks to purchase them rather than whizzing past to ignore them.

I'd be thinking 'which of these do I like the least so I won't be tempted' but then wondered if that was the equivalent of giving out raisins on Halloween. So I got 'sweet & salty' stuff. But I didn't rationalize the need to do a quality assurance taste test. I trust the Keebler Elves did that for me.

And yeah, I wondered who may have looked at my cart with the 2 boxes of snacks (coffee cups, etc) and judged 'yep, that's why you're fat.' But I can't worry about that.

Leaving at 5pm SHARP since I'm fasting all day for this meal. Oh, that's not true. I rarely eat before 5-6pm period. But for some reason with I'm really 'thinking' about the meal as I have been this one, I seem to be hyper about delays, haha. I need to manage my hangry.

Did not know you fasted that much. I like the morning fasting. Steakhouse sounds great!!! Have a nice mindful meal.

Dang it. I’ll have to pass. 5:05 would be the ETA and not sure on which day. Lol

Liv - thanks. It's not an intentional WOE fasting - I just find that I rarely want breakfast and usually a couple of cups of coffee and I'm just fine with 'not' eating until later in the day.

I've been thinking about it a lot lately - because as I am working more to be mindful of my portion control, my OMAD is leaving me with only 900-1000 calories a day so I'm forcing myself back into the kitchen for a 500-600 calorie 'something' to keep my RDI in check.

So either way - I'm forcing myself (if I start eating during the day OR late at night after dinner) to eat based on 'mental reasons' instead of physical hunger and I'm still trying to find my path.

I am also going out tonight and checked out the menu online and tracked my dinner already. Knowing in advance makes it easier to make good choices.

Who cares what anyone thinks. Nosey people shouldn’t be looking in your cart lol. Good job not taste testing ;).

If you need ‘something’ to keep that RDI where it should be then may I suggest some cheese? Quick and easy with protein and it’s allowed in your woe. Cheddar cheese and chips used to be my go to snack. That, candy and pop were the reasons for my weight gain lol. So portion control is a must but I find 4-5 slices is around 600 kcal with chips.

I hope you enjoy your lovely diner out tonight! And, Peeper is right! Someone judging your shopping is just silly. I've got to tell your a story! So in Canada they have so many lovely, different chocolate bars. One year when we were heading home from visiting family, I was 8.5 months pregnant with the last and ran (waddled) into a grocery store to grab some bars for the trip. Some old, grumpy guy saw my purchases and turning to me to say, "Ya know that puts weight on don't you?" I was so pregnant, but I actually wasn't so fat that time around. I was so embarrassed but managed to blurt out they were for my family. "Yep, sure thing," he said with a skeptical brow. I went outside with a tear in my eye. Hubby, who is the least hot headed human ever, was concerned. I told my hormone enhanced, sad story while shakily pointing my finger toward the guy now coming out of the store. My hubby suddenly turned on the van, drove my load of kiddos up to the guy, rolled down his window, and told the surprised guy, "Mind your own business, you old fart!" What was a rotten, sad moment turned into something we have laughed about for years now!

LMAO, Melissa!! That made me laugh! At least you have some cups to make it look like you were entertaining some company. Ha. I would like to say I don't judge carts- but that would make me a liar and I am no liar. :)

Bella- enjoy your steak dinner!

Oh, yes... And I certainly hope you are not going to a "diner" to enjoy your "dinner!" 😁

Linda - yep, it does. I've done that. I'm like that joke... by the time I arrive at a restaurant I've already yelped it & picked out my meal. But ELK... it was elk that I had last time I went for steak.

Peep - totally on board with the cheese as a quick dense calorie food. I have to laugh tho - in an ironic moment because I've grown so accustomed to 'one ounce is a serving, one serving is enough, most cheeses are 100-110 calories per serving' mental mode - the other night I tried a new cheese. Goats milk with honey. It was wonderful. Then I noticed 'only 80 calories'.. under my 'expected' cheese calorie goal. Meh, I'm not sweating 'THAT' as I never know REALLY how many calories are in food so I round up but it was a funny moment for me to be disappointed that the calories were 'lower' instead of higher.

Melissa - I LOVE your husband and I laughed out loud at him yelling at that guy. Wonderful to be able to turn a moment into a funny memory like that.

Princess - IKR? I know it's none of their business but yeah, maybe the cups helped. I know I shouldn't care and I really 'don't' but I'm not unaware that I was probably judged by someone. I remember in '12 when I lost all the weight Cutty sent me to Braums to get three 1/2 gal of ice cream. He wanted choco, van, & strawberry all - but hated Neopolitan. So I'm standing there with the ice cream in my arms & got 'the look' from the woman in line in front of me. You know.. the UP & DOWN body shaming look? Well, maybe you've never experienced it but I have.

Keyten - Ya know something.. I don't think you'd like it. It was cheezits & other similar things... not anywhere NEAR your Woe. Melissa - yes - dinner at a restaurant, not a diner. It's supposedly 'nice'.

Key - yeah, your body would be so shocked you'd likely gain water weight from processed food. What about Moo's crack cake?
