So apparently my scale is starting to take me for granted again... sigh... I guess I'll just wait two weeks before I weigh now. LOL - I'm just kidding. I'm quite content the number didn't go up and this is all part of 'how the scale lies' because I know I've lost inches.

I never 'measured' beyond 'how are my jeans fitting' because I know me; if I'd have tried to use a tape measure it would have been pulled tighter than a tourniquet.

But I did notice Sunday I'd pulled on a pair of jeans and actually moved onto something else when it struck me, 'Wait a minute, you just buttoned and zipped those jeans without sucking in your stomach, holding your breath or tugging at the hips... hmmm!'

So conclusion - lost body mass, obviously body shifted to more density (hoping that means muscle not that I'm just more dense than usual mentally) and all is well in Bellawood.

I did not get around to experimenting on veggie smoothies last night as I'd thought about earlier in the day. Ah well, something to live for.

I did, however, have sauerkraut before breakfast this morning. Not bad. When I thought about it yesterday, even though I was having it for lunch, I reacted 'seriously, sauerkraut for breakfast? I'll probably hurl..'

But it was good. I am a little disappointed in that I was no longer hungry halfway through my bacon, egg, cheese & tomato bowl but didn't make myself stop eating - so right now my jeans feel a little too snug (not the same pair as the other day - a different really snug pair) so another lesson learned: sauerkraut is filling Bella so cut the breakfast in half tomorrow if you want to sit at your desk comfortably.

No weirdo cravings otherwise yet today. Stay tuned :-)

Thanks for reading.

@Bren - LOL. Interesting to note it's 11:30 (5 hours since breakfast) and I'm still not hungry and had the same breakfast I did Monday but attacked by the Munchy Monster. There may be something to the saurkraut after all.

Bella, loads of Korean people eat kimchi for breakfast, every day-it's a bit spicier but essentially the same as sauerkraut. They might look at you askance with the bacon and eggs, but no one would bat an eyelash at pickled cabbage for breakfast!

Too funny, you talk about smoothies the same day I do! I responded in my post about what I use! Watch out for that sourkraut. IT is LOADED with sodium and will bloat you. Your sodium levels are off the charts, i looked at a few days and they were 5000 and 6000. Something to think about. Could be part of the scale messing with you. "The RDA for sodium is currently no more than 2.3 g, or 2,300 mg, of sodium daily for healthy adults. That is equivalent to about 1 tsp. of salt a day." HOpe that helps! I love saurkraut, but can't eat it cause of the sodium. I feel SO much better now that I have lowered my sodium the last year. Keep up the good work.

@Colly - oh, I know - just getting past my 'breakfast should come from the barnyard animals' mentality. Note: 1pm and STILL not hungry - I think the sauerkraut may be a keeper. Definitely cutting the bacon & egg bowl in half in the morning though, whew~

@Lizzy - yeah, we're veggie smoothie sisters today, LOL> Thank you for reviewing my diary - I know, my sodium has always been high - obviously something I crave. Now - is it a healthy craving or habit? Time will tell. I never add salt to anything I eat so that's a plus but yes, get a lot of sodium in the pickled / processed food. I have to imagine it used to be WAY off the charts even more than now before I cut out so much processed food. I figured 'sodium' after the mustard on Monday & Kraut on Tuesday but again, if the body is asking, I'm going to answer. Unless of course, it starts asking for ice cream. Then we'll talk. Thanks again :-)

Fullabella, body doesn't crave sodium cause it needs it silly! At first it was weird for me, I had to search for foods that didn't have added sodium. My state buds QUICKLY adjusted to non sodium foods, now everything processed tasets WAY too salty. It is very interesting. My body craces cake, so I guess I should go get some, LOL, NOT!

LOL Lizzy - no, I know the body doesn't say 'give me salt' but there was something in my body saying 'give me mustard, give me sauerkraut' and those two things happened to be high in sodium (where it does NOT say 'give me chips, give me popcorn' anymore. Yes, true, since I have eaten less processed foods things like canned soup are way too salty to me - like licking a salt block. I just KNEW I'd want my typical holiday 'onion' dip at Thanksgiving, wrong - too salty. At first I loved chicken broth but finally went to reduced sodium. I'll look for a lower sodium mustard and 'kraut if the craving continues. The same thing happened with sugar - cannot eat processed sugar, ice cream, candy anymore - too sweet to even enjoy. So yes, I have adjusted. So I guess I should have been more accurate when I said 'my body craves, I will give' ... as long as it isn't tooooo unhealthy and while I get the 'too much sodium is unhealthy', well, I'm giving it all I got right now - I'm a work in progress :-)

Nothing is ever too sweet for me LOL. Ok, I admit, I just made cauliflower, haven't blended it yet, but it is grose without salt! LOL , maybe I can put it in one of those smoothies as a veggie!

I've been thinking the same about a cauli/brocc/carrot blend I have 'hmmm... wonder if it would make a smoothie'.

Someday I will evolve to eating saurkraut without the hotdog and mustard. I am creating a bumper sticker...it s always about the jeans!!! Nothing else matters.
06 mar. 13 por el miembro: sharonfriz
@Sharon - sooo true. Funny too! We never obsess about looking good in the 'little black dress' Hepburn made famous.. we just want to look and feel good in the jeans. Your bumper sticker could read something with a play on the words 'for most people, it's in the genes... for the rest, it's about the jeans...' but then that's too much to read when driving. Your way is best, LOL.

Ok, ladies, while I support your right to eat whatever you please (this is still the land of the free and home of the brave, after all, and that definitely sounds "brave" to me), I just gotta say, welcome to the land of the toothless, stroke victim food lifestyle. You'll fit right in at the nursing home with those "smoothies".

baxie, what the heck was that suppose to mean?

I'm thinking (hoping) that statement came across in type a lot different than it sounded in the head!

@Baxie - LOL - no kidding. I keep telling myself I'm trying to do this veggie smoothie thing to try to get more micronutrients in an 'instant delivery system' (kind of like the juicing Joe Cross does) instead of so many supplements in pill form but maybe I am just preparing for my toothless years :-) In one of my many lives I did work in Long Term Care and one of the things we had to do in orientation was EAT pureed food so that we would understand how the texture felt & tasted to the patients. It is amazing how it really DOES taste like the 'food' - without the chewing. Do I want ALL of my meals to taste like that? No, not yet, not until completely necessary. But for now, I'd like to get the nutrition of a lot of spinach, broc, greens in general w/o having to eat 10gal of it at a time so I'm trying to do a decent veggie smoothie. Thanks for stopping by ~ haven't heard from you in a while ~ good to see you're still around!
