I finally saw the scale move downwards! I have been this weight for two days so it feels solid. Two pounds down! Excellent. Looking at last week I see that I had two 'over' days and two 'over a bit' days and then three days in the zone. This week I had one 'over' day and one 'over a bit' day with the rest in the zone. When the dust cleared I averaged 3 calories over the zone so I call that a win. Once again I feel confident that I am on the right track.

Last week a met a friend in a town midway between us. I haven't seen her since early February. We social distanced while we ate lunch and then walked her dog. It was a pleasant 1.5 hour visit. New normal!

Speaking of the new normal, I got a haircut last week as well. There were many protocols in place and I appreciated that they were there. And I am glad to have my hair cut! I was due for a haircut one week after the shut down so I was getting pretty shaggy.

I have been enjoying breakfast and lunch on my new south deck between rain and mosquitoes! It is really sunny there so I have been soaking up the sun.

Great loss! Good going! I'm glad you could get to see a friend. The new "normal" is a bit strange, but I've also been thankful to see a friend even from a bit of a distance. And you are getting those super long, northern, sunny days! Love it! Hopefully the mosquitos aren't too bad! Enjoy your porch!

Recently it hasn't felt like the usual long days as we have been getting lots of rain so it has been fairly cloudy. I am looking forwards to those long days. June 21 is the longest day and I hope it is sunny! Mosquitoes have been middling for me but my sister's and my daughter's places are sporting clouds of the beasts.

YAY to the arrow going in the right direction! Consistency is key! I was actually overdue for a haircut when the *%$% hit the fan so I was waaaaay overdue and didn't get in until last week, shaggy doesn't begin to describe how I felt! Have to laugh...We were married on June 21st and I always tell my husband it's actually the longest day of the year, it didn't just feel like it...lol

rckc- thanks for your vote of confidence! Haircuts seems so frivolous in this new world order, however it feels darn nice to get it done! The other way you can view it is - June 21 is the shortest night of the year!

I know both "clouds of beasts" and short nights. I spent a summer north of The Pas, Manatoba. 😁 Need I say more? 😁 ❤️ Even down here, south of the border we are enjoying longer days so much. I'm always a bit sad June 22...knowing we have reached the turning point. The dark really gets to me in the winter with all our cloudy skies. I don't mind the rain so much, but give us sun breaks not an endless blanket of grey! 😁

Melissa the weather is breaking today! Beautiful blue skies and white white clouds! My family and I went through The Pas on our way to a wedding at Red Lake Ontario. We drove up in our battered truck and camper with my husband and one of the kids on his Harley. The RCMP visited us that night... We were quite the sight. We had come through dusty roads and our camper was filled with fine silt so all of our belongings were strewed around as we did a deep clean. All was good Dave and the officer bonded talking about the places the officer had been stationed at. The black flies however.... never in my life!

Oh my! I can imagine dirt everywhere and the dreadful flies!! 😁 I think with family adventures it is for sure the troublesome and crazy times that make so many memories. 😁

It was crazy dirty as it was that silty dust. The nice part was how the whole family pitched in to clean it up. Dave and my daughter cleaned all the things that were outside including brushing the wedding outfits we were planning to wear, my son who was around 11 at the time washed all the floors. I did the washing of the roof, walls, counters, etc. In the end it was done within 2 hours. Supper was had. But those black flies were brutal. I had never come across those before.
