This is a celebration week! I lost 3.6 pounds! That is exciting however the context is that this is the first loss that I have logged this month. I logged a zero and two weeks of gains adding up to 1.4 pounds. The other exciting thing is that I have achieved my initial goal of losing 100 pounds! I am 0.6 pounds under that goal. Whoopeeee!

According to those in the know, a 100 pound loss gives a woman goddess status. (not sure if the guys would get god status....???) That makes me an official goddess!

Now back to earth. At 170 pounds I am still in the overweight category. When I set that goal, I felt that a hundred pounds was all that I was willing to consider. Now that I have achieved that, I plan to inch my way down into virtually unknown territory weight-wise.

I have been 170 as an adult a few times and I knew what this looked and felt like. I was ever so briefly at 165 approximately 20 years ago. The last time I was 140 I was 19 years old. I was 130 at 18 years old. See what I mean? Virtually unknown territory for me at 62 years old!

It is my plan to go at this in 5 pound increments. Lose the 5 pounds. Assess and decide if that is the stopping place or if I am losing 5 more pounds. I can't fathom a weight less than 140 so that is my expected minimum weight however anything between 140 and 170 is a win for me.

Last week I was writing about my nut issues. Just for the record, I managed the nuts very well this past week. First of all I accounted for 56g of nuts that were weighed out each morning. All of the nut containers were turned or stored in such a way that I did not see them and they were not as accessible. That helped. By the end of the week I was weighing the nuts that I hadn't eaten and was able to subtract those calories off the following morning.

The other change is that I made a conscious effort to not eat past 7 pm. I achieved that most nights.

My granddaughter has been making Hello Fresh vegetarian meals for us the last 3 nights. They are fairly high calorie. So I have been portioning my share into increments that work for my plan. I have compensated by eating less to make sure which means that my calories were lower yet.

All in all a celebration week!!!

GREAT JOB! I don't care if it is unacceptable internet protocol to use all caps, but I think a 100-lb accomplishment deserves it! Are you doing anything special for yourself to celebrate your accomplishment? You should. Even if it jus buying a cute pair of underwear - do something that will make you smile.

Congratulations, Carol!!🎉🎈🎈🎈🎊🍾 If you can achieve a 100 lb. loss, you can do 5 more....then maybe 5 more. And it doesn't have to have an end date. To maintain your loss you'll need to continue eating according to plan most days so you may find a lb. or 2 just drop off unexpectedly. Here's to getting healthy in your 60's!! (I'm 65) 😁

Why not aim to be out of the "Overweight" BMI category and get into "Normal"? This way you are out of range of any health disasters. Shifting the focus away from appearance and back to protecting your health may give you a more practical goal. In the meantime, a reward for your incredible milestone and hard work is definitely in order. Suggestions: new earrings, flowers, outdoor concert, shopping spree for a summer dress & sandals. 💛🎈🎁
