Busy day ahead. I don't have to go to my regular job, but I am doing some housekeeping today for a neighbor for extra cash. I said I could only come for a few hours. I have too much to do at home. It is so nice to have my husband home after having been gone for about 10 days. I need to get out and deadhead and water my roses this morning.

I ate well yesterday and stayed pretty close to my goals. I have to keep my focus on where I want to be. At the end of September I turn 50. I would love to be a lot closer to attaining my goal weight again by then, but I would really love to be back in the gym consistently and have some recomp happening. One day at a time!

This is the rose bush closest to my hydrangeas. What is pictured is about 1/5th of its crown. The name is Dark Desire (sk, I actually know the name of this one). I pruned it to hip high in the early spring, and it is more than eight foot high now. Some of the canes are so huge that my big "lopper" can barely manage. I am going to lop off a bunch today! I will have to use the super long handled tool and probably still get stabbed with thorns as the tops tumble. No gentle "dead heading" for this monster!
