My beautiful visitor this morning! Day off work today, but I have so much work to do at home. People to drive, house and yard work to do, chores to manage... busy day!

My fragile girl has developed bronchitis. She went to urgent care yesterday. Inhaler and cough suppressant is helping her get more rest. One of my driving times is taking her to the airport. She is flying to join her fiance and to meet her in-laws in DC for the first time. I am praying her headache is not too bad and she stays strong during this exciting yet physically trying time traveling. I won’t breathe very well until she is safely there with her lad.

I am not going to stress eat! Have a wonderful Wednesday!

how cool. I have a much smaller woodpecker that comes by in the morning, but it's very shy and hard to get pictures of. you are so lucky!

Thanks Melissatwa! I was curious because it looks larger than what I see around here, and found a file named Dryocopus pileatus.ogg on Wikipedia, which is a recording of its call. I have heard it but didn’t realize what it was. 🙏 for you and your daughter while she’s traveling.

I had 3 of those woodpeckers on my deck rail the other day eating sunflower chips! They often come to eat but I didn't know there were 3. Mine don't pose for pictures.

I always hated the waking me up pecking at my mother's house when I lived there. They always woke me up earlier than I wanted to. Thankfully, I don't deal with them in an apartment building, which is brick on the outside. Something they cannot peck through.

You are super mama! It’s a brutal never ending cycle of things to do isn’t?! I told My husband a couple of the chores I needed to complete and asked him to hang out with the baby, and he said “you just keep having things to do…” made me laugh- YES it never ends! 😂 stay strong friend, you WILL NOT stress eat! 😘

What a great pic & a beautiful bird!! Amazing! Your daughter is also amazing! Having the strength to go cross country on a plane (which can make her symptoms worse) is very brave. Tell her to get ear-planes I think they're called. Little ear plugs that relieve air pressure from flying. I use them bc my ears HURT when I fly. I even got a child set in case there's a baby crying from the pressure. 😢 Anyway I hope she feels better & enjoys her trip. I 🙏 for her safe travels.

Katsolo, I do feel very blessed to have a habitat around me that provides for these beautiful birds! If you ever "capture" yours, be sure to share! 😊 Becky, thanks so much! I got the message from her lad at 5 this morning that she was with him and safe! She was on her way to lay down. Hopefully she got some sleep on the plane, but that isn't easy. Yes, Tom! That is the right one! They are the largest woodpeckers in North America... Unless the ivory bill is to be found somewhere in the deep everglades or something. Most of the time it is their call that alerts me of their arrival. It is the woody woodpecker! I hear them much more often than I see them!
