My weight was all over the place for a few days after my colonoscopy. I wouldn't sweat it

LOL. Colonoscopies are so not fun.  

Try again tomorrow and see if it has changed. Could be from procedure.🩷 

I have to laugh at this not at you. My husband says after doing his morning bathroom routine this is crazy I just got rid of everything how can I weigh more? I tell him honey as the day goes bye our weight increases. Make no sense to me but it does!

Morti, the prep, though... I've been given the all clear for 10 years. I forgot who said this first, (not me) but the best outcome of a colonoscopy is the knowledge that you didn't need to have a colonoscopy. 🙄 

Thank you, Diana! Given that I'm sitting squarely in the Peri-Menopausal Hotel, weight fluctuations in general don't really bother me that much. Two pounds one way or the other is a non-event. But it did feel like a kick in the shorts after the mass exodus I endured last night. 

Pops! Thank you so much! I now have the absolute gold-quality excuse to do zero things all day, 'the doctor said so.'  

Wow Unity just shows how complex the body is weight loss is not always linear as I really thought you would be lighter one thing is for sure you know you did not suddenly gain fat overnight so the water weight is nothing 

Oh yes there is one thing cool about a colonoscopy is you have the lodest most relieving fart if your life when I went for mine there was about 10 of us in the ward and afterwards it sounds like a drum concert we all could not help but laugh. Also whatever you do best just to let rip because they pump air up there and if you don’t it hurts. So after the procedure if you need to let rip do t be embarrassed just do I was embarrassed initially until I cottoned on to what was happening 

Wayne, so far I have been spared that scene! Thank goodness! I'm sure my body is waiting for me to attempt a serious conversation with a client, friend or child before appropriately embarrassing me to the nth degree.  

Hope all goes well the gain is most likely water weight or from sodium. I don't know how they prep now but when I had one around 20 years ago it was a brine like substance, completely miserable. And I was a teen and after all that they found nothing wrong. 

hahah Unity, if it hasn't happened by now then I am sure you are ok, our surgeon was a bit rough with us I think 

Wisteria, you poor thing! A procedure like that for an adult is unpleasant, but to be subjected to it as a teenager just feels harsh to me. 😕 I am sorry. The substance they had me drink was definitely a brine that tasted like salty soap. When I undergo the procedure again (a long time from now), I am buying lollipops. There is nothing that will make that liquid taste better, but I sure as heck plan to chase it with sugar. Ala Mary Poppins... a teaspoon of sugar for sure. 

@unity1234 It was very unpleasant and back then I was losing weight and my hair was falling out and the only confirmed issue was anemia. I couldn't deal with the salty stuff.  

OMG, Wisteria! That sounds so stressful and a bit familiar to me. When I was 9 years old, I started getting these horrible stomach aches. They would wake me up in the middle of the night. I was terribly uncomfortable. I would cry and go sleep in my parents' bed; but that was not a sustainable solution. My poor parents took me to many different doctors and they all said I was fine. In the end, I was anxious. My stomach aches were due to anxiety. I was just sensitive. I still am. 💙 Doctors can't solve ALL ailments. They try, I know. And they mean well. But some ailments can only be solved with love. 💙 

Wayne, the farting room story made me belly laugh and as i have internal stitches in my abdominal area that hurts and i laughed anyway!!!
