You have done the right thing for the people most important in your life. If you ever doubt your decision just imagine what may be said and done when you are out of the room, out of hearing distance or not home. Don't ever unsee what you know to be true.

Wayne- it was hard to be honest to him, until he accused me again of cheating, when I'm home everyday all day, I don't have friends, Im not social cuz I dont have friends. It's annoying, like a projected accusation? There's even an indoor camera that he has an app for access too whereever he goes.  

If my husband died (because I can't picture us ever divorced) and I dated anyone else- which I also cannot imagine- if that person ever treated my kids poorly- he'd be out on his ass. Congrats for breaking up with him. Hope you stick with it. I bet your kid is thrilled. I remember the relief every time my mom would break up with one of her asshole, alcoholic boyfriends and I didn't have to see them again.  

First congratulations to you. I second what DP stated. My dad was an abusive alcoholic who beat my mom for some of the things you've mentioned before. As a kid I didn't really understand them separating as I obviously wasn't privy to the details at 7. But I'll say this now looking back her leaving him was the best thing that ever happened to us. She remarried and we got the best step dad anyone could ever ask for. With his love and guidance we were/are a family since 1992. Someone else said this in another comment. But it did resonate with me. You can't start a new beginning without an ending prior too. I wish you well moving forward. 

I wish you all the best. It takes a lot of strength to leave someone when you don't have any friends to lean on. I don't have any friends either. I wish I was as strong as you are.

Proud of you for recognizing the toxic human in your space. Sometimes it's easier to see when they attack someone we love. When they're attacking us we rationalize that it's something we did or said. It's Not your fault. He is controlling and abusive. That is HIS character flaw. He will only escalate and become more unbearable. Be Strong do not be manipulated back into the toxic relationship. You and your family deserve so much better. Making friends and developing a support network is a challenge well worth the effort. You are a Beautiful young lady value yourself! Prayers for Peace!
