Finding it challenging to put food on the table that works for everyone... and have had a few meals that contained a great deal more flour than feels good to me. I'm more active than ever, though. All my leg muscles are sore (in a good way). Nothing to do but keep trying. All is well. Just noting how wheat flour and I need to go our separate ways.

I remember that challenge when the kids all still lived at home and Mark was still alive. He was the pickiest eater ever, and the kids saw that and well, yeah, meals were challenging. Especially since I was always dieting, lol. Glad all is well. Keep up the good work, Unity! <3

WindyD, yes, yes and more yes, to your reply. My first born has been a picky eater from day 1. My 'baby' is experimenting with different types of foods.. This, in turn, is causing my supply-chain data to be all wacked out. I perpetually have too much of one thing (cheese, crackers, and bananas this week) not enough of his latest favorite (bread, jelly). Add in my best friend's Crohn's and my meager attempts to limit dairy and gluten and you get a chicken without a head lol... I am just gonna eat whatever we have in the fridge and try again next week. 😂 This why there is stupid cheddar cheese in my lunches lately. Arg 😜

I can totally relate. I don't have time to fix separate meals for me so I often don't eat what I want to and what is right for me. Agree about wheat flour.

I often fix my dinner and Joes dinner separately, depending on what we are having. It's extra work but I've been doing it for so long...I can't imagine multiple meals for kids though. No advice just support on this one Unity.

Diana and Morti, the support is worth gold to me, for real. I just have a lot going on with one boy visiting colleges and the other just being 14-years old (he's a character, that one is). There is an old punk song I remember during times like this, by Minor Threat where the lead singer is screaming that he's out of step and can't keep up. Lol that is me lately...

That's how it is sometimes, life is messy, lol. I can barely keep up most days. Youre doing great, take a few minutes for you. xo

Tomorrow when I go shopping, I’m buying ingredients for homemade tortilla wraps. This batch will have coconut flour, coconut oil, psyllium husk, hot water, and salt. Trying to get off of my mission wraps due to poor ingredients it’s made out of, plus highly processed wheat flour.

Hard to juggle several types of meals…I live alone now so not sure what advice. Hard when everyone likes different foods.

Basically I do three different breakfasts and three different dinners. One is for me, 1 is for Minnesota, a 13 y/o pit-Aussie mix, and #3 is the easy one for an 8 y/o pit-basset-? mix who will eat anything and has the full-length abdominal surgery scar to prove it. Minnesota is an incredibly intelligent old man who's now getting sundown syndrome, who lives through scent, scans everyone who crosses his path, nosing them to see where they've been, who was there, and what you ate. He knows when I cook something especially tasty (to him) and will not eat dog food unless it's amended with the Food of The Day special. Spoiled. But he got too thin, so I started adding liver, ground beef, chicken, etc. a little at a time. Today it was an egg. Of course he wanted what I had for dinner. Not happenin'. Kids I could tell that they didn't have to eat what I'd put on the table but there wasn't going to be anything else. This old dog...well, he does know a lot of English words but the concept of 'No, you're not getting my supper' evades him.

Stormy! Homemade wraps sound divine, honestly. 😄 I am ok, just a lot of change at one time.

GopherIt2, have you ever read James Herriot's Dog Stories? You might love them!

Stormy the wraps sound amazing. I want an update! Unity, picky sucks. I make “components” a lot. Bake chicken, roast different veggies, make pasta or rice… but don’t mix them and with extra for later. Then dinner everyone can mix and match. I dont do gluten so I skip pasta. Daughter doesn’t like rice. Hubby doesn’t like certain veggies. The best part is leftovers are easy to make other things with. This week ground chicken and made a lot of baked “nuggets” with fries. Leftovers I made a stir fry by adding a sauce. Had them on a corn tortilla with salsa lunch one day

Eternal struggle on feeding multiple tastes. I wish I had just focused on my likes more and let the rest make their own adjustments. It always surprises me when I see them eating something they claimed to hate 😝

Unity, James Herriot's books are part of my eclectic library. I loved them and also the TV series that followed his predecessors' adventures in the same location where he practiced. All of our animals as a kid were pets, whether the cows, cats, dogs or sheep. Pig not so much, and chicken not except one, Spotty, who I trained to do tricks. My cat, Bob, also did several tricks, although sometimes grudgingly. By now you may have figured out that I am truly a (family) farmer at heart. I could live happily in Cornwall or Wiltshire.
