So starting over is going well, not too shabby for day two! Just hoping I can keep this up for a while.this is going to be a tough time for me because I just found out in 4 months my baby boy (ok,not baby but 9 year old) will be having lengthening surgery on his leg that is going to consume the better part of a year to complete. So with that said now is not the time I will be tackling the no smoking rule. I'm going to lose the weight first and hopefully I will be close to my goal before his surgery and then I will be quitting smoking. Too much at once is a recipe for failure and I need to be able to succeed at something.things are looking up and I can't wait for all the wonderful results! Have a great day fatsecret friends!

I know vaping is a poor substitute, but it may be something to try. One of my band mates is trying it, and I took a drag to see what it was like. Not bad, really. Might be a beginning. Good luck on the diet!

I quit smoking some time in February. After smoking for a few years (quit previously before that for a few years).. I just put them down. It's not about an addiction, it's about you being "used" to how things are so you continue to do them. You're used to having the morning cigarette, or having the cigarette after the meal.. it's about ignoring that habit. The addiction is not in the nicotine.. it's in the head. It's the day in, day out routine that we have to break. All of this became clear to me after the first week.. then, you just don't think about it anymore. It's time mom. It's not a recipe for disaster, it's you showing your 9 year old that despite the stress you both are about to endure, you're stronger than any mental game that cigarette is playing on you, and he's strong enough to come out of that surgery and fight to heal and go through any physical therapy he may need. Best of luck to you both.

Oh your absolutely right, and I did quit before in my early 20s but at that time I was rarely home and not around it. Right now I'm unable to work and currently living with my mom who is a lifetime smoker. This is no excuse by any means but it's hard. And I definitely will very soon, it's so bad for us and very expensive. Thank you for the support, and hopefully soon I can get out of my own head :)

Your photograph shows a lovely, slim woman.....at about 5'4". 110 might be too little for your body to carry.....as you stopp or cut down on smoking you will need something to replace it.....try yoga or hot baths...rather than food...good luck.
