This week my hubby and I went for a little trip to the Oregon coast. I grew up spending my holidays visiting my grandparents who lived a block from the ocean in Lincoln city. That is also where we spent our honeymoon 26 years ago. We had a wonderful time away this week even though it was just three nights. I took a picture of "Grandma's" house. My dad built the deck! Although it is now a stranger's home, I love it still. We also spent a couple nights in Cannon Beach, thus we had to get the picture of Haystack Rock! On the way home we saw the elk! They were so beautiful, and it was such a treat! We ate very simply by picking up fresh food in grocery stores. One night we had a tiny kitchen, so I cooked some shrimp and veggies! For breakfasts we had fruit, paleo bar, and cheese curds from the Tillamook Cheese factory. We walked for hours and hours on the beach, and I did some running in the morning. It felt so good to not be carrying extra weight and to be contented with good food but not overeating, as was so frequent for us in the past. We didn't buy junk but ate what was satisfying. How grateful I am for the changes to my health and how I feel!

Thank you all for enjoying my pictures with me! It had been a couple years since I have been to the beach, and I soaked up every minute! The weather was perfect, and enjoying this time with my beloved was absolutely wonderful!

craftysnp, did you recognize the hills along the beach toward "Road's End" in the seagull picture? How wonderful that you got to live in Lincoln city! Grandma and grandpa bought that house for 6,000 dollars and lived there nearly 50 years! The window at the top of the house opened into the tiny attic type room where I most loved to sleep!

Once again beautiful pics! That looks like the rock (beach scene) from the end of The Goonies!!! If I remember correctly I think it was filmed in Oregon!!

Thank you binky and Kenny. Yes, that is the rock! It is absolutely massive! It is more than 230 feet tall! I feel like anyone lucky enough to be close to it could never forget how awe inspiring it is!

Loved the photos! In 2000 my husband & I spent May thru December in Portland while he did a telecommunications project. We spent one weekend out on the coast & had the best time. After the project ended we drove down the coast with our brand new camper to California to see family before heading east for home.

Thank you so much, dears... for the comments and for the "support hearts!" I thought as I was taking pictures which I might share here. Your support honestly made it possible for me to enjoy my trip like I did. I couldn't have done it alone... I had tried. To be light and free is a blessing beyond what I ever expected again in life! I never dreamed I would again be my honeymoon weight! I think I am stronger and fitter than I was 26 years ago, because I had been away at school and only running for exercise. Thank you everyone for the support you gave me and continue to give!

Sherry, I love that you have seen the Oregon coast! It is a piece of paradise! I am sure a tropical, warm breach would be amazing, but the beautiful sands and wild waters of Oregon are perfection to me!

Thank you, Eva! My life doesn't look like that most of the time... How I wish it was so relaxed and calm! But, it does I guess reveal my relationship with my hubby and food anyway! Not all the time perfect, but making efforts all the time. 😁 ❤️
