If you love peanut butter, by all means work it into your diet. I eat nuts and/or seeds every day and just make space elsewhere. If you're waking up at 1-2 a.m. for it, though, are you feeding yourself enough during the day?

@Anne-I tried that last night and had a spoonful right before I brushed my teeth. I was up again at 2 am and had another spoonful. I guess what is it hurting me as I am recording it as Calories in!

@GD-I love toast w/peanut butter and banana on top or if I have fat left at the end of the day I make a protein cake and add peanut butter to the top of it with a little Reddi Whip!

How do you make a protein cake?

@YOH- My favorite is already a pre-made mix called Chocolate Fudge Cake from Profile. You mix it with water and cook in the microwave for 1 minute. I then put 1 T. PB on top - microwave it for 15 seconds and spread the PB around and then add Reddi-Whip Fat free on top. Otherwise you can make your own and there are a ton of recipes out there by googling - protein cake mug recipes.

oh wow! Thanks for the info. I generally eat only between noon and 8p. I don't get night cravings but definitely wake 2 to 4 many nights. I've read protein can help with night wakefulness, and this tip sounds promising - except I'd have to change it to almond butter because I only eat peanut butter in cookies and reeses. I would change my fasting a bit by having a spoon before bed around 10p, at the same time that I take my magnesium.
