My journey began October 1, 2020 after recovering from an awful case of COVID and realized that I have never been this weight (330 lbs.) I hired a personal trainer, worked out 4-5 d/wk. I ended up losing 25 lbs by Jan 2021. In April 2021, I started to loose my balance and walking ability. In 8 wks was no longer able to walk without assistance. I was using two canes to walk. I went to the Smoky mountains for 3 weeks to work on myself, meditated and I hiked. The hike took me 4 hours and 40 minutes instead of 2 hrs like before. I dropped my intake to 1500 calories because I needed to lose 50 lbs before my back surgery. So, between May 15th and August the 4th I was able to lose 25 lbs. Two surgeons refused to operate because I was not down enough. The 3rd surgeon to operate. He thought my BMI is acceptable for him to perform the surgery. By surgery day I was down to or below 280 lbs. I maintained the weight while rehabbing until I gained over 15 lbs between January 1st 2022 and February 15th 2022. I have modified my intake to 2200 calories, but I maintained and then I gained a few more pounds. Now I am on 1900 calories a day with workout to rehab 4 to 5 days a week. I'm stable but no weight loss. My goal for this year is to lose of 55 lbs by December 31st 2022. Now I am dropping the calories to 1800 day and keeping my carbs to protein ratio 2.5 to 1.
