Day 1 of a planned 2 days of ‘water fasting’ Blood sugar 98 mg/dL
After gaining 3 pounds the previous day, yesterday, I lifted weights at the gym, then did a 5 mile run. I drank protein shakes during the day and then feasted at a planned dinner. Great time and I only gained one pound 😊
So, I lost 7 pounds in 3 days, then gained 4 pounds in 3 days for a net loss of 3 pounds as I start my normal fasting week. Since I had a total blast this weekend, basically eating out and eating whatever I wanted for three days, I consider this a success 😊
This week I plan to water fast the first two days then just drink protein shakes for the rest of the week. The big difference I plan to make this week, over my normal fasting over the past three months, is to not have my “Protein Coffee” (300 calories/3 carbs) in the morning at all this week. This should keep my body in a ‘fasted state’ for most of the day. I think that the long periods of being ‘fasted’ is what really moves the scale.
I will just drink a 5-Hour energy drink to get the required caffeine in the morning.
My 'no solid food fasts', in the end, are really just #Keto and #IF (Intermediate Fasting). For the past three months, I have kept the #keto part, but, my Protein Shakes 'throughout-the-day' were NOT keeping up with the IF part. This is what I am looking to change in the coming weeks...

Thank you for the great birthday dinner baby! No more celebrations until vacation, yay! Oh wait, anniversary next month :) Perhaps we should celebrate with fasting?

Hi there. My protein coffee is only 40 calories. I use collagen protein in a cup for ten grams of protein. Maybe an option.

Adefwebserver, great job on your fasting thing, I am too fasting myself tomorrow, I will break my fast on Wednesday at noon - afternoon. Let's fast and then we celebrate.( I am having 4 days weekend this week, so I gotta be prepared)

@Tash23 - Oh please understand *I* have taken a simple concept (protein in coffee), and made it a problem (300 calories!) :) However, I only *want* the 300 calorie version, it-is-out-of-this-word-delicious! But, I need to just skip it all together. If I TRIED to make a 40 calorie version it would turn into the 300 calorie version... Because I actually DID start with the 40 calorie version haha 🤣

@Keilin_4 - Ok we will fast, and THEN we will celebrate :) My wife (@PrincessValerie) was trying to suggest that the two could happen on-the-same-day! Hahah 🤣 - - I break my fast on Tuesday night with a Protein Shake :) I don't get solid food until FRIDAY night :)

Well I’d say that worked out just great!! I might be down to water fast half the week if I could binge eat cake and pizza and Chinese food the rest of the week🤣🤣🤔 that actually sounds so good right now... but so unhealthy 😑 I have a big Italian party coming up on Sunday and 3 other parties the next 3 weekends (plus valentines) my heart just isn’t really into keto rn 🤷♀️

@CrashtestDawnie - Yeah it worked out so far, let's see what this week brings :) I have multiple 3 days weekends this month. In the past 6 months, my data shows, I gain HUGE on a three day weekend. "Control" to me is a 'desire' not something I se anyone actually able to achieve 100% :)
