Day 2 of a planned 5 days of ‘no solid food’ fasting

I did a 🏃🏾‍♂️ run yesterday and I plan to do a 🏃🏾‍♂️ run today. I hope this ‘gets the scale moving’.

I am allowing myself to have a 🥛 protein shake each night. ‘Mentally’ this has been MUCH easier than ‘water fasting’ 24 hours a day.

Just having something, other than just 🥤 water to 👀 look forward to helps me get through the day without feeling ‘deprived’. I don’t think that 7 carbs and 500 calories makes that much of a difference. But, I think the 🏃🏾‍♂️ running will.

You never mention diet sodas, you don't drink them? I am not much for diet coke, but I started using them with my fasting days.

@Keilin_4 - I stay away from the diet sodas because most have caffeine and I like to keep caffeine as low as possible (because I drink 2 cups of coffee a day). I do chew sugar free gum. Yes, I 'take a hit' from it, but sometimes you need 'something' to help you get through the day without eating a BAG OF COOKIES Haha!

Oh, I understand, now that I am caffeine free, I only drink caffeine free diet coke. I don't have many choices ☹, as I don't go to often to restaurants I drink soda with caffeine sometimes.

I would think the 1 protein shake a day wouldn’t affect you but your body seems to be extra hard on you (really likes to hold on to water). Hopefully you’ll get the results you’re looking for 👍

Hey! the day I went to the birthday party of the lady with terminal cancer I drank probably 4 oz. Of regular coffee 😋. I remembered that I was caffeine free and that my coffee is decaf only at home, when I was about to drink my second cup. 🤯🤣

The protein shakes seem to work for you. Good choice to stick with them. You are very active, especially with the running, so your body seems to need more than water on your fasting days. You're doing great.😊

@CrashtestDawnie, @Becca@ - This is the first Tuesday I have lost a pound in a long time, so it appears to be working so far :) I was able to run today, so if I lose another pond I am going to say it was the running that makes the difference :)

@Keilin_4 - Congratulations on being caffeine free. I did that once for a year. It was great. But, once I got back on it, it was hard to stop :)

Thank you, it's hard to quit coffee too, so ,I drink as less as possible sodas with caffeine(only at restaurants), most of the time I drink decaf coffee and caffeine free teas at home, I am loving my herbal teas. 🍵😋👌
