Deadlift day! I hit 125 pounds for 2 reps!!! It was very heavy 😆 but I think I maintained good form. It felt very very slow off the ground like 115 use to 😁 Progress is nice 😁 I had that strawberry shortcake cupcake after my 2 hour gym session. I won’t be able to go to the gym tomorrow so I fit back and shoulders in with my deadlift routine today. I am going to be extremely sore later 😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅

The things that helped me get higher: (1) Reverse grip [Or use straps - ow anyone can hold on otherwise amazes me] (2) Grip the bar tighter [This is what I got from reading an entire book on deadlifting. Seems like I was gripping the bar as tight as possible already, right? Turns out I could grip it 'tighter' and without doing that I could not lift as much] (3) Push my heels through the floor [that mental image focuses my attention to using the part of my body that is actually able to move that much weight] - - I was able to hit 300lbs. Here is the thing, you can too!

Thanks guys 😊😊 Liv the first thing I ever tried deadlifting were 20# dumbbells and I immediately felt a pull in my hamstrings! I had no idea that I’d be able to lift 125 pounds. I can’t even do a single pull up 😱

Adef Im about to order straps and a weight belt. I think that will really help me lift more. My hands are so sore and becoming very calloused. I do push with my feet (makes a big difference) and grip tight! I watch a lot of YouTube 😂 YouTube is very helpful and so have you guys on fs 😃

@CrashtestDawnie - I'm the guy with the weight belt, and the gloves 😜. The gloves are why I probably have a hard time gripping the bar tightly and need to use the reverse grip (that I change direction on each set). Calloused hands make it hard to feel the skin of loved ones :) My weight belt helps me maintain proper form and avoid injury.

I skipped my workout today because I woke up with tendinitis flare up in my elbow. Worked out Saturday. So I’ll rest until Wednesday. Congratulations on your accomplishment!
