Diario de Steven Lloyd, 02 nov. 17

Weight slightly below set weight, a little less fat through midsection, hips and stomach than last weigh in, on last belt loop on every belt.

Warning!! Boring details to follow...for my future reference:

Did a test sprint to 500 machine (elliptical) measured calories a few days ago and was off by over a minute from my Personal Best of 21:48 set earlier this year on July 12th (see July 14th journal if interested). Very high perceived effort this session...I think I went too fast at the start and lost pace through the middle, finished off at 100% effort sprint for the last minute and a half at 330 plus continous watts. For those of you who chose to read this far, I do these tests and others (over the last 8 years or so) to measure my comparative speed, endurance and strength. Still a really good comparative time compared to my last summer-fall time.

Ski season starting in about a week, with first big back country trip set for Dec 10 - 12th... looking forward to both!!

A favorite pic from a past back country trip and my set up; race skis, resort skis, powder & back country skis, waiting to go!!

WTG Steven!!! Sounds like its time to buy some new belts. That must be good feeling. BTW: I did read your entire journal entry and it reads well. Enjoy your prep training and ski season!!!

Thnx John! I think the fat loss was mainly due to some longer 1 hour to 1.5 hour cycling sessions with continous heart rate average in zone 3 - 4 (+/- 140 bpm). Intake was about the same as prior months.

I wish I could get out this winter and try skiing! Your pictures make it look amazing!

Your continued efforts and attention to details is what is keeping you so very fit! Great adventure and skill filled picture and an amazing set up of skis! What is the purpose of the bags? Wax? I too read your post all the way through. ..

Aggie, it is more fun than it looks, kinda like flying on a cloud. Hey SW, those bags contain climbing skins, they are put on the bottom of those skis and allow us to climb up hills. We have special touring bindings that allow the heel to lift on the way up....then at the top we take off the skins and lock the heel so we can ski down. It's like hiking on snow, with now and then downhill skiing sessions. :-)

Thnx CMF!! Snowblowing the driveway and cross country skiing today...forecast is for pretty cold night ahead of us :(

Sounds complicated. Your skill makes for many successful downhill sessions. If I knew how to post a picture I'd post a picture of my beach equipment- a gold pair of Reef flip flops...I travel light!

I never knew there were different types of skis. Yours are so colorful. I love them. LOL!

LOL B, beach equipment might include a reclining chair for me. Mom, they all have a pretty specific purpose with a bit of overlap (from left to right, hard pack/ice to deep powder snow only). Far right two sets are my better half's.

Hey Jim, great to hear from you old buddy (time being buddy...not that we're old, er...well, forget that). Hope things are going well in your world and family is doing fine!!

I forget, are you retired?

I'm not retired Misty, but I do have a lot of flexibility and freedom in my occupation...self employed, partner in a few businesses with mostly financial - legal admin, upper management and executive sales obligations, not much day to day, hands on responsibilities thankfully :-) Work is still pretty rewarding...sometimes even fun, blessed with great partners.

THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! Your maintenance is my ideal maintenance!!! I have been using this app as a way to hold myself accountable for what I eat by taking pics, noting what is in my food, and posting it. I NEVER THOUGHT ABOUT POSTING MY EXERCISE!!! I kept thinking I will just eventually kick back into it like no time had past but it just never seemed to happen. Thank You for the wonderful idea, you just do not even know how much your posts just help me, AGAIN THANK YOU!!!

No worries CS...my calorie outputs are calculated using a heart rate and gps driven activity monitor...I enter the activity and adjust the Fat Secret minutes to match the heart rate based calculated calories...this accounts for different efforts doing the same exercise for the same time period. I also have set my RDI at 1/2 pound per week drop and sedentary which gave me a 2300 cal per day target (still 250 cal day higher than MyFitnessPal calc). My own activity goals are to try and do at least a walk (or two) and light TRX workout every day...with some more vigourous or longer activities as much as time and my energy allow. I also regularly keep track of a few performance tests to see how I'm doing compared to past efforts...so far so good and now after months of doing this I really have a pretty good handle on what king of numbers I need to follow to keep on track.

Impressive Steve! 8 years of tracking. Wow. I need to step up my game. Adding a Runs-Races worksheet to my Getting-Healthy spreadsheet and will start moving over data from my Garmin site into that tab. Thanks!!!

Thnx Ches,, I've also added a couple "measuring sticks" since joining the site. One is the Recovery Heart Rate test, added in Feb 2016, courtesy of member Mahjohn (where ever he is now, thank you!)...anyone can do this simple test and it does give a great indication of cardio health.
