Fasted 22 hours. I had Bang Bang fish tacos with cilantro, lime and slaw on low-carb tortillas, a southwestern double-baked potato, green beans and pinto beans. It was good.

It looks amazing! I have a question for you; are you doing OMAD? I’m going to start fasting soon and it’s been so long since I use to do OMAD. But I remember feeling like it was easy because with keto I wasn’t hungry. How is fasting with carbs? Do you have hunger pains? Do you need to take in extra electrolytes while you fast?

Thank you, dear Becca! Dawnie, I do a loosey-goosey IF. I try to fast 16+ hours and not eat after 10 p.m. I am not hungry during fasting, but basically once the dinner bell clangs, I just want to keep snacking until bedtime, whatever time it is. It is a problem. But personally, I am not willing to give up carbs. So it seems to work for me when I push back my window to just a couple of hours. And I try to eat a lot of veggies and beans to fill up on the front end. I am doing a challenge that requires me to drink a gallon of water a day, so that and coffee is all my bladder can take. Honestly the only issue I've had is sometimes I feel tired and spacey, usually when I work out a little harder, and then I have been breaking the fast at 16 or 18 hours, and eating more, usually more carbs. YMMV. Not a pro, just sharing what I am doing. I have also been losing about a pound a week, and I've been in a holding pattern for 4 weeks, because I've been snacking too much. Hope this is helpful, Dawnie dearest!! I am rooting for you!

Ahh 16-18 hours is good. I’m going to start off with that next week. I’d like to switch to eating carbs on OMAD at the end of October. That way I can enjoy comfort foods of fall. I generally start eating and don’t stop til bed time too. Which is why I want to try omad to try to mitigate the damage.

I do OMAD often. Once you get used to it, your appetite lowers and you eat in a very small window of time - like two hours. I have a meal, and then some fruit with yogurt. That is plenty for me.
