Day 5 of a planned 5 day ‘no solid food’ fast
Blood sugar 90 mg/dL

The 🌧 rain finally stopped 👍🏾

Yesterday I was able to get to the 🏋🏾 gym. My lifting strength was greatly diminished, because this was the first time in over a month where I went 4 full days without solid food AND I did some running.

But, still, it is nice to see the scale move…

I plan to run 5 miles a day for the next 3 days and hit the gym again on Saturday. I will have eaten the night before (tonight), but, there is no way my glycogen levels will be built up, so my weight lifting will still be greatly reduced. There is a reason you see the big guys on this site pounding the carbs all the time, I-need-carbs-to-lift-heavy. But, now is a time for me to shed fat. My weight trendline has been pointing up for nearly 3 months, this is *not* what I want if I ever want to see my abs 😊

Agree with Chris, the fat around the ABs are the last area to leave, but the first place to come back to.

Just lift what you can manage and don’t worry about it! You will still build some muscle with lighter weights 👍🙂

@CrashtestDawnie - Yeah, the most important thing is for me to make sure I hit the gym 3 times a week no matter what I lift :) But, you work so hard to get to a certain lifting weight, so it's hard to see those gains go away Haha
