Don't let it get you down SherrieC! I know that's easier said than done. But 2 lbs could be anything. Muscle gain, water retention...Don't be so hard on yourself. As long as you know you are making the best choices for you, thats all that matters. You can do this!! :)

You may want to weigh yourself once a week to avoid getting upset by fluctuations.

Check the fit of your clothes, even when the scales seem to be going up from water retention, the inches (fat) will still be coming off

Note I weigh myself in the morning with light night clothing- Jean's, leather skirts, heavy dresses or shoes may be adding weight- Always use the same scale to weigh yourself

Some things to think about. Are you tracking all your food honestly? Bites, licks and tastes add up and can cause weight to go up and down. Are you measuring out your food portions or eyeballing it?. Measuring cups, spoons, and a food scale are great weight loss tools. Are you getting enough lean protein, lean dairy, fruits and veggies? Sometimes it's about WHAT you are eating. Are you eating too many processed foods? Processed foods contain tons of sodium. Are you drinking your water? Staying hydrated and helps keep things moving and flushes out sodium. Are you being consistent with calories? Going off and on plan can cause weight to fluctuate up and down. Consistency is key. Are you weighing on one "official" scale? Scales are calibrated differently and you may weigh something different on each one. Public scales need to be calibrated more often and many aren't not, so it's hard to tell how accurate it may be. Are you weighing same clothes, same time, same scale each week? Our bodies are made up of 60% water and our water weight will cause shifting of the scale all day long. I like to weigh in the morning, before eating or drinking anything and after going to the bathroom. Google "why the scale lies" for insight in to water weight. Are you eating the right amount of calories to help you lose. It might help to do a week of 1400 or 1500 a day and see what happens. Gains are caused by so many things.

Try a tape measure for results that dont show up on the scale.

You went to the gym then weighed in. Two things, first off well done your actually going to the gym and just not a benefactor to a service you don't use. So in theory you did stuff first, like drank some water, put some clothes on and who knows what else, water weighs mills to gm so if you drank 600ml or a pint dependant on where your from thats 600g or 1.5lbs right there.

Sherri, Make sure you are also taking measurements every week. I have not seen a loss on the scale in almost two weeks, but my measurements have decreased. I basically could care if the scale says I weight 200 lbs as long as my inches keep going down and my clothes size keeps going down. Don't get down on yourself, the gain could be muscle, hormone fluctuations, or even the scale not to scale. Keep trucking ahead. You're doing great!

Scales can be different on a daily or even an hourly basis, I agree use the tape and take pictures it really helps

Don't be discouraged, my sweet friend! One day at a time. I'm not sure of your way of eating, but maybe it's time to change it up a bit? Hang in there, and know we're here for you! xoxox
